Snow Removal Safety Tips

Winter work introduces visibility, traction, and equipment challenges. Here’s a practical checklist we use to keep sites safe and efficient.

Mark hazards early

Stake curbs, drains, fire hydrants, and drop-offs before the first snowfall. Use reflective markers visible at night.

Plan snow stacking

Designate piles to preserve sight lines and avoid blocking drainage. Keep exits and hydrants clear.

Equipment checks

Inspect cutting edges, hydraulics, lights, and tires or chains. Carry shovels, ice melt, and signage for pedestrian areas.

Communicate with clients

Agree on trigger depths, service windows, and where to push or haul. Document storms and service times.
